Bine ramificat arbust robust la copac mic de aproximativ 3,5 m înălțime și 2,5 m lățime, cu o coroană densă în formă de vază. Crește ușor și formează în mod natural o coroană frumoasă și regulată. Frunzele ușor lucioase, de culoare verde închis, se îngălbenesc toamna. Înflorește în jurul lunii februarie/mi-martie, ceea ce îl face să fie unul dintre ultimele cultivare cu flori. Florile sunt mari de peste 3 cm, de culoare galben deschis și abia parfumate.
