Acest copac mic are o coroană deschisă, cu ramuri drepte și robuste. Nu formează o ramură de inimă, ceea ce face ca forma coroanei să fie larg ovoidală. Crenguțele tinere sunt goale și strălucitoare, de culoare roșie-maronie. Frunzele impare, cu penițe impare, sunt formate din 11 - 17 foliole lanceolate până la alungite, iar frunzele de susținere sunt lungi.
