Un arbore columnar care dezvoltă o coroană ovală și îngustă la maturitate. Copacul crește între 12 și 18 m înălțime și aproximativ 6 m lățime. Ramurile cresc strâns în sus, creând o coroană densă. Crengile tinere sunt de culoare gri-maronie. Scoarța veche este de culoare gri-verzuie și este canelată în mici blocuri dreptunghiulare. Frunzele sunt ovoidale inversate și net mai mari decât la Q. robur. Acestea sunt de culoare verde închis lucios și devin maro-gălbui toamna. Ghindele au o dimensiune de până la peste 2,5 cm. Ele sunt închise până la aproximativ jumătate de cupulă, care este acoperită cu solzi triunghiulari. Arborele provine dintr-o încrucișare între Q. robur 'Fastigiata' și Q. bicolor. A moștenit caracteristicile bune ale ambelor soiuri părintești: port columnar închis, rezistență mare la mucegai și foarte rezistent la vânt.
