Această formă plângăcioasă de Q. pyrenaica crește larg, cu ramuri puternic căzute. Forma coroanei este semi-deschisă. Crenguțele subțiri sunt cenușii pufoase, mai târziu netede și de culoare verde-oliv. Frunzele sunt de dimensiuni variabile, cu o lungime de 10 - 18 cm și o lățime de 3,5 - 10 cm. Pe ambele fețe, frunza este fetru-cenușie-gălbuie, permanent păroasă pe partea inferioară. Lobii sunt mai înguste decât la specie și, de obicei, foarte adânc incizate. Culoarea frunzei este ceva mai slab verde decât la specie. Ghindele lungi și ovoidale sunt 2 până la 4 laolaltă și sunt înconjurate pe jumătate de cupa, care este acoperită cu solzi lungi, adiacenți, asemănători cu pâslă. Potrivit unora, "Pendula" este o varietate naturală, iar în populațiile sălbatice de Q. pyrenaica apar și plante cu ramuri puternic plângătoare.
