Stejar ornamental originar din Asia Mică, care crește la o înălțime de aproximativ 10 m, cu o coroană ovoidală largă, mai târziu rotunjită. În cultură ajunge la o înălțime de aproximativ 7 - 8 m, cu ramificație densă și crengi subțiri. Crenguțele tinere sunt ascuțite și au un strat pufos alb care dispare curând.
