Copac mic, aproape arbustiv, cu un arbore de creștere oarecum neregulată, cu creștere largă. Crește semnificativ mai încet decât specia. 'Curly Head' este de obicei crescut pe o tulpină înaltă, atingând o înălțime de 4 până la 5 m. Frunzele sunt mai mici decât cele ale speciei, alungite până la ovale, cu lobi puțin adânci.
