Arbore mare, cu o coroană ovoidală largă. Inițial, copacul crește destul de zvelt, dar ramurile grele ale tulpinii lărgesc considerabil coroana mai târziu, ajungând în cele din urmă la o lățime de 12 până la 15 m.
