Un cireș ornamental îngust și vertical, cu o formă de coroană columnară. Înălțime între 6 și 8 m, dar mai lat decât P. serrulata 'Amanogawa'. Are o scoarță gri-maronie și netedă. Frunza ovală de culoare verde închis are marginea frunzei puternic zimțată. Măsoară aproximativ 7 cm și dezvoltă o frumoasă culoare de toamnă portocalie spre roșu-violet. Înflorește exuberant în aprilie, cu flori simple albe dispuse câte două-trei laolaltă. Diametrul florilor este de aproximativ 2,5 cm. Florile apar în același timp cu frunzele de culoare verde deschis care se desfac. Umineko" provine dintr-o încrucișare între P. incisa și P. serrulata var. speciosa. Din această încrucișare a rezultat și P. "Snow Goose". Datorită înfloriturii bogate și a formei impresionante a coroanei, "Umineko" este un arbore foarte potrivit.
