Prunus serrula Paperbark cherry, Tibetan cherry

Arbore cu coroana rotundă, destul de lată și semi-transparentă. Înălțime de aproximativ 6 - 8 m. Scoarța strălucitoare și puternic solzoasă este de culoare maro mahon. Exemplarele cu creștere viguroasă au cele mai frumoase trunchiuri. Frunzele de culoare verde deschis sunt alungite, iar marginea frunzelor este fină și regulat dințată. Frunzele devin roșii toamna. Înflorește în aprilie - mai, cu flori alb-crem, destul de discrete, de culoare albă-crem, în mănunchiuri de 2 până la 4 împreună. Florile de aproximativ 2 cm sunt urmate de fructe ovale, roșii, cu un diametru de aproximativ 1 cm. P. serrula este folosit ca arbore de parc și solitar. Nu tolerează solurile umede.
