Prunus sargentii 'Rancho' este o selecție americană cu o coroană remarcabil de îngustă, de la columnară la vas îngustă. Coroana unui exemplar matur are o lățime de numai 3 m la o înălțime de aproximativ 8 m. Scoarța este brun-roșiatică. Frunzele ovoidale inversate sunt maro la înmugurire, dar mai târziu devin verzi. Culoarea de toamnă este roșie. Florile sunt mai mari și de un roz mai închis decât cele ale speciei. Înflorește foarte abundent, pe la jumătatea lunii aprilie.
