'Beni-chi-dori' este un arbust robust cu creștere lentă până la un copac mic, care poate ajunge la o înălțime de 5-7 m. Coroana este rotundă până la sferică aplatizată mai târziu. Frunzele verzi proaspete atârnă de crengile maro închis. Acestea sunt ovale late până la aproape rotunde, au vârful ascuțit lung și marginea frunzei dublu zimțată. În funcție de frigul din timpul iernii, 'Beni-chi-dori înflorește în februarie-martie. Florile simple, care sunt în perechi sau singure, au o dimensiune de 2-2,5 cm și sunt formate din 6-8 petale. Acestea sunt de un roșu-roz închis cald și se colorează foarte bine cu crengile maro închis. 'Beni-chi-dori' este de origine japoneză.
