Arbore mic, cu coroana ovoidală formată din ramuri în relief. Înălțimea este de aproximativ 4 - 6 m. Frunzele izbitoare, de culoare cupru până la violet, sunt ovale până la ovale și ajung la 3 - 6 cm. Mai târziu în sezon, frunzele devin ușor mai verzi.
