De obicei, crește de la forma de arbust la cea de arbore mic, neregulat și cu mai multe tulpini. Tulpinile principale cresc, de obicei, în poziție verticală, iar ramurile au o creștere neregulată, care poate fi foarte variabilă. De regulă, ramurile laterale cresc orizontal și, în cele din urmă, se formează un solitar decorativ.
