Prin încrucișarea L. alpinum cu L. anagyroides s-a obținut Laburnum x watereri. De aici a rezultat soiul "Vossii", care a devenit cel mai cunoscut laburnum. De la o înălțime a trunchiului de aproximativ 1,5 m, trunchiul principal se împarte adesea în mai multe ramuri de tulpină robuste. Acestea cresc întinzându-se pentru a forma o coroană largă, în formă de vază. Lățimea coroanei până la aproximativ 4 m. Crengile tinere sunt de un verde izbitor. Ramurile și trunchiul devin maro-verzui. Frunzele sunt trifoliate și fiecare frunză parțială are o lungime de 2,5 - 7 cm. Înflorește cel mai abundent dintre toate speciile și cultivarele, în ciorchini pendulanți de până la uneori 50 cm lungime. Florile sunt de un galben auriu intens și ușor parfumate. 'Vossii' formează mai puține păstăi și mai puține semințe decât alte specii, care sunt otrăvitoare. Hibridul Laburnum x watereri se întâlnește, de asemenea, în natură.
