Crește de la o formă de arbust la un copac de dimensiuni mici până la medii, cu o coroană ovală largă. Coroana este foarte dens ramificată; acest efect este accentuat de frunzele rigide și veșnic verzi. Frunzele sunt de culoare verde-oliv închis și oarecum convexe.
