Acest hibrid între C. crus-galli și C. pubescens formează un arbore mic de aproximativ 6 m înălțime, cu o coroană densă și largă în formă de vază. Ramurile de culoare gri-maronie sunt practic fără spini. Frunzele ovale până la ovoidale au 2 - 4 lobi și sunt ușor coriacee. Suprafața superioară este verde închis mat, iar cea inferioară verde deschis. Frunzele rămân pe copac pentru o perioadă lungă de timp toamna, adesea până în decembrie. Buchetele de flori albe apar în lunile mai și iunie. Acestea sunt urmate de fructe rotunde și strălucitoare, de culoare roșie-maronie, cu un diametru de aproximativ 1,5 cm.
