Chitalpa tashkentensis 'Summer Bells' bloeit rijkelijk met orchidee-achtige, bleekroze bloem met gele keel, bloeit juni – augustus, zoet geurend. De bloeit start vroeg in de zomer en duurt ongeveer 2-3 weken. Een tweede bloei volgt half augustus. De Chitalpa groeit het best in de volle zon, op een goed gedraineerde grond.
