Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Wisselii' este un conifer impunător, cu creștere piramidală, care atinge 20-25 m înălțime. La fel ca specia C. lawsoniana, crengile sunt brune, iar scoarța este brun-roșiatică. 'Wisselii' este destul de grosier ramificat, iar capetele crengilor sunt întotdeauna aproape vertical erecte, ceea ce este caracteristic acestui cultivar. Frunzele sunt, de asemenea, mai grosiere decât la majoritatea celorlalte soiuri de C. lawsoniana, dar ramificarea densă conferă copacului un aspect plin. Solzii sunt de un verde închis ușor lucios și contribuie în mare măsură la aspectul impunător al arborelui. Chamaecyparisului îi place un sol bine drenat, umed și tolerează slab solul calcaros.
