O încrucișare în cultură între C. bignonioides și C. ovata. Are ramuri principale grele și crește de la forma de tufiș până la cea de arbore de înălțime medie. Coroana, inițial piramidală, dar mai târziu rotunjită, este semideschisă. Lemnul dur este casant. Frunzele ascuțite și complet netede, de formă de inimă până la ovală largă, apar primăvara târziu și sunt ușor purpurii-maronii, devenind mai târziu verde închis. Plantele tinere au adesea frunze mai mari, de până la 30 cm. Cad relativ devreme. Florile albe, în formă de clopot, sunt puțin mai mici decât la C. bignonioides și sunt în panicule erecte, lungi de 20-30 cm. În interior, florile sunt galbene, cu mici puncte maro.
