Aesculus indica este un arbore substanțial, cu o coroană ovală sau rotundă și ramuri înclinate în sus. Trunchiul este neted și de culoare verde-cenușie. Crengile sunt de culoare verde-maronie. Frunzele în formă de mână și compuse, în formă de mână, sunt formate din 7 până la 9 foliole. Acestea au fiecare între 15 și 30 cm lungime și au marginea frunzei fin zimțată.
