Acer triflorum Three-flowered maple

Acer triflorum este un arbust sau un copac mic, rareori de dimensiuni medii. La prima vedere, este oarecum asemănător cu A. griseum, dar se deosebește de acesta în parte prin scoarța de culoare gri-maronie, doar ușor exfoliantă. La A. griseum, scoarța este brun-roșiatică și se exfoliază puternic. Frunzele de A. triflorum sunt păroase și ceva mai verzi-albastre pe partea inferioară. Vara sunt verzi, dar toamna devin frumos portocalii până la roșu purpuriu. Numele speciei provine de la faptul că în fiecare coloană de flori există doar trei flori laolaltă. A. triflorum este în principal un arbore de aplicat ca solitar în grădină sau în parc. Preferă un sol ușor acid.
