Acer rubrum RED SUNSET ("Franksred") este un arbore de talie medie, cu coroana piramidală până la ovoidală, uniform ramificată și cu vârful bine distanțat. Coroana închisă și densă. Înălțime 15-18 m, lățime aproximativ 12 m. Crengile tinere sunt brun-roșcate cu lenticeli.
