Acer rubrum "October Glory" este un arbore de talie medie, cu coroana uniform ramificată, dens închisă și ascuțită în vârf. La înălțimea maximă are o lățime de aproximativ 10 m. Crengile tinere sunt de culoare brun-roșiatică. Pețiolul frunzelor de culoare verde închis, de până la 10 cm, este de asemenea roșu. Frunza este mai groasă decât specia. Partea inferioară este albastru-verzui. Frunzele de toamnă devin roșu închis și rămân pe copac pentru o perioadă lungă de timp. Dintre toate soiurile de A. rubrum, acesta se colorează aproape ultimul. Inflorescența femelă apare înainte de frunze. Fructele se coc la începutul verii și cad repede.
