Acer rubrum "Brandywine" este un arbore de talie medie, cu o coroană regulată, ovoidală, care se lasă oarecum în jos și devine larg ovoidală la maturitate. Arborele a fost selectat în timpul cercetărilor privind ereditatea culorilor de toamnă și a rezistenței la cicadele pitice. Brandywine" are culori de toamnă strălucitoare. Pe o perioadă de aproximativ două săptămâni, frunzele devin mai întâi roșii, înainte de a se transforma într-un roșu purpuriu intens.
