Acer pseudoplatanus 'Erectum' este un arbore de talie medie spre mare, care poate atinge o înălțime de până la 25 m. Este un arbore foarte ușor de întreținut, care necesită puțină tăiere. Copacii tineri sunt columnari, dar mai târziu în viață devin mai largi, cu mai multe ramuri care se desprind. Lăstarii tineri sunt de culoare verde deschis. Frunzele cu lobi puțin adânci sunt mai mari decât cele ale speciei și stau pe pețioli scurți și groși, cu o bază a frunzei aproape dreaptă.
