Acer platanoides "Olmsted" este o selecție americană care seamănă foarte mult cu soiul "Columnare", ceva mai larg. Este un arbore de creștere moderată spre lentă. Atinge o înălțime de 10-12 m, maxim 20 m. Forma coroanei este columnară largă, devenind mai târziu ovală. Lățimea finală la exemplarele vechi este de aproximativ 6 m.
