Acer platanoides "Globosum" este un arbore comun, cu o coroană densă și închisă. Este altoit pe un portaltoi de A. platanoides, de obicei la o înălțime de 2,20 m. În primii ani coroana este rotundă, mai târziu se lărgește și dezvoltă o formă sferică aplatizată. Coroana crește până la aproximativ 6 m lățime. La desfacere, frunza este ușor colorată în roșu-maroniu, devenind mai târziu verde închis. Toamna este galben intens. Înflorirea este ca la specie.
