Acer palmatum 'Ôsakazuki' este unul dintre cele mai cunoscute și mai bune soiuri din grupul mare și bine conturat al arțarilor japonezi. Inițial un arbust robust, care mai târziu se transformă într-un arbore mic cu mai multe tulpini. În cele din urmă crește la fel de lat pe cât este de înalt. Crește lent. Frunza este lobată palmat și are șapte lobi lungi și ascuțiți. Primăvara răsare de culoare brun-oliv, iar vara este verde închis. Vara, frunzele tinere sunt de un portocaliu izbitor.
