Acer palmatum "Fireglow" este un arbust mare sau un copac mic, atractiv, cu o creștere verticală. 'Fireglow' este oarecum asemănător cu 'Bloodgood', dar diferă prin faptul că frunzele sunt mai puțin lobate adânc. Culoarea frunzelor de la "Fireglow" este, de asemenea, ușor mai roșie. Lăstarii bine dezvoltați sunt destul de subțiri. Frunzele tinere devin roșu-roz, iar mai târziu devin roșu închis. Toamna, devine roșu-violet cu verde închis.
