Acer campestre "Red Shine" este un arbore mic, cu o coroană piramidală regulată și îngustă. Totuși, cea mai izbitoare este culoarea frunzelor sale. Frunzele tinere, în special, sunt de un roșu intens, iar mai târziu de un roșu verzui. Fața inferioară a frunzelor este verde închis, mai închisă decât la specie.
