Un copac de mărime medie, cu o creștere viguroasă, cu o coroană ovală în tinerețe. În special arborii tineri cresc bine în sus și pot crește rapid în locurile favorabile. În cele din urmă, arborele ajunge la o înălțime de 10-12 m. Crengile anuale sunt de culoare verde-maronie, iar scoarța mai veche este maro-cenușie și netedă. Frunzele de culoare verde închis sunt oarecum asemănătoare cu cele de Ulmus LUTÈCE, dar sunt ușor mai mici și mai rotunde. Marginile frunzelor sunt remarcabil de zimțate grosier. Toamna, frunzele devin galben-maronii. VADA a fost dezvoltat în Țările de Jos de către Hans Heybroek și Alterra, dar nu a fost publicat niciodată. În timpul testelor franceze de rezistență la boala olandeză a ulmului, acest soi a obținut rezultate foarte bune și a fost achiziționat și comercializat de compania franceză INRA.
