Soiul "Brouwers" are un căpățânii mai continuu decât specia și, prin urmare, crește mult mai uniform. Este un soi cu creștere lentă și ramificare densă. Trunchiul de culoare neagră-cenușie rămâne neted pentru o perioadă lungă de timp, dar mai târziu este canelat. Crenguțele tinere sunt de culoare brun-cenușie până la brun-oliv, inițial cu părul cenușiu, dar în curând sunt goale. Frunza este lobată, cu 5 până la 9 lobi pe fiecare parte. Pe partea superioară este verde închis și ușor lucioasă, pe partea inferioară este albă-feliată, iar toamna devine galbenă până la galben-portocalie. Uneori, coloritul de toamnă este omis. Florile de culoare alb-crem emană un parfum tipic. După înflorire, fructele ovoidale până la rotunde, de culoare roșu-portocaliu, apar în corymburi mici. Acestea rămân până în octombrie. Este un arbore rezistent la vânt care tolerează bine seceta. Se aplică în zonele de coastă. 'Brewers' produce mult mai puține fructe decât specia. Rezistent la arsura bacteriană.
