Hibridul S. arnoldiana este o încrucișare între S. aucuparia și S. discolor. 'Golden Wonder' este un soi cu creștere rapidă, care se transformă într-un arbore de înălțime medie, cu o coroană piramidală largă. Frunzele sunt neuniform penate și sunt formate din 9 -17 (21) frunze parțiale lanceolate. Acestea au o lungime de 5 - 7 cm și o lățime de 2 - 3 cm și au marginea frunzei fin zimțată. Pețiolul de culoare roșu închis este izbitor. Toamna, frunzele devin galben deschis spre roșu-portocaliu. Corimbii de flori mari, asemănători cu pâsla, sunt compuși din multe flori albe. Încă din august apar fructele de culoare galben-ocru, cu un diametru de aproximativ 1 cm. Arborele preferă solurile ușor acide, bogate în humus, dar se dezvoltă bine și pe solurile nisipoase uscate.
