Un soi puțin frecvent de platan oriental. Rămâne mai mic decât specia și are o ramificare redusă, astfel încât în timp se formează un arbore cu mai multe tulpini. La o vârstă mai înaintată, ramurile se lasă în jos, creând o coroană largă și rotundă. Culoarea scoarței este galbenă, iar scoarța verde, uneori cenușie, se desprinde în secțiuni mici, creând un aspect pătat. Frunza este mai puțin adânc incizată decât specia. De obicei, are 3 lobi (uneori 5 lobi), cu vârfuri puternic dințate și un lob mijlociu mai lung decât lat. Inflorescențele globuloase au părul proeminent. Înflorirea este urmată de fructe care trec de la verde la maro și au un diametru de aproximativ 2,5 cm. Acestea persistă până bine în timpul iernii. Plantațiile tinere sunt sensibile la îngheț.
