Încet-în creștere cultivare cu un remarcabil îngust, obicei de creștere columnar. Frunza mare, penată (uneori dublu-penată) este formată din 7 - 15 foliole. Acestea au o lungime de aproximativ 7-10 cm, iar lobii au marginea frunzei zimțată. Frunzele sunt de culoarea bronzului primăvara și devin galbene până la portocalii toamna. Numeroasele flori mici și numeroase, galbene, cresc în panicule terminale de aproximativ 30 cm lungime. Paniculele sunt deschise și au o structură lejeră. După înflorire, apar fructe veziculare mari de aproximativ 4 cm. Acestea trec de la verde la bronz și conțin câteva semințe negre. Fructele rămân pe copac pentru o perioadă lungă de timp. Înflorirea de la "Fastigiata" nu este nici pe departe la fel de bogată ca cea a speciei. Plantați într-un loc adăpostit, deoarece arborii tineri pot fi afectați de îngheț.
