Arbore de talie medie, elegant, cu creștere destul de lentă, cu o coroană deschisă, ovală și largă, care ajunge în cele din urmă la o înălțime de aproximativ 10 m. Formează o ramură centrală dreaptă. Frunzele sunt de un verde închis lucios, devenind galben-aurii toamna. În jurul lunii mai/iunie, după ce frunzele s-au desfășurat, apar paniculele mari cu flori alb-crem. Florile sunt minunat de parfumate și ies bine în evidență pe fondul verde închis al frunzelor. Arbore stradal bun care poate fi folosit și în pavaje.
